Diego Rossi took advantage in the Golden Boot race, after scoring 12 goals in 15 games, three more than those marked by Gyasi Zardes (Columbus Crew) or Raul Ruidiaz (Seattle Sounders). Being the clear candidate to win the Boot, Rossi will have to wait until his next chance to score in the MLS, as he will be absent in the next games after the call-up for his national team.

If at the end of the season Rossi finally achieves the Golden Boot he will automatically transform in the youngest player to win it, breaking a record that stands for Carlos Ruiz, who scored 24 goals in 26 games playing for LA Galaxy in the 2002 season when he had 23 years.

Rossi, aged 22, has managed to make a very good season so far with Los Angeles FC and many big teams from Europe had dropped their eyes on him.

The biggest obstacle to be faced by the Uruguayan player now will be the at least 4 games that he will be loosing after the call-up for his national team, as he will have to follow the COVID-19 protocol pandemic.
