After 72 matches played and 19 goals for Mexico national team, Carlos Vela considered that his time was over. The idol resigned to the national team and has no intentions in going back, even though many fans and even head coach Gerardo Martino publicly expressed that it will be good to count on a player like him.

Vela is comfortably installed at Los Angeles. He lives there with his whole family and plays for LAFC, being the best paid Mexican player in the MLS. As he said many times, soccer is not a passion for him and once the games are over, he likes to distract and think on something else.
