The dramatic moment that Gonzalo Higuaín's living

He went from complete happiness at having a great start in the 2021 Major League Soccer season to deep pain. It is a very hard time for the Higuaín family. Nancy Zacarías, mother of footballers Gonzalo and Federico (who share a team at Inter Miami), died of cancer that she had suffered from for just over four years. In fact, when Pipita was with the Argentine National Team in the dispute of the Copa América of the Bicentennial, her mother was operated on for the first time.

Although the family always tried to keep the issue private, a few days ago, Pipita said hopefully that his mother would get ahead: “The Vieja is fine, the Vieja is fine, always praying for her, she continues to be a hard moment, but it is a tora, it is a tora, it will be fine", he told the newspaper La Nación.

Jorge Higuaín became a boyfriend with her at the age of 19 and, two years later, they married. They had been together for 41 years and she always understood perfectly what the world of football was like. Nancy and the former central defender of River Plate and Boca Juniors had almost a life as a couple.

She was no stranger to the world of sports: she was the daughter of Santos Zacarías, the great Argentine boxing master, and sister Claudio Zacarías, also a footballer. Together with Jorge, she had four children: Nicolás, Federico, Gonzalo and Lautaro. She was always responsible for raising and educating them, while Pipa played soccer.

The pain of Gonzalo Higuaín

In 2016, Gonzalo Higuaín thought about leaving football. His mother's illness didn't make him think of anything else and he couldn't focus on what he does best. Faced with his poor performance in Juventus and the Argentine National Team, the forward decided to publicize what he was going through.

“I don't really like to talk about my private life or my family, but I clearly had a bad time. It is true that people have no idea and I do not think that many are interested in whether your old woman is good or bad, it only interests those who know you. And yes, I had a bad time, but my mother came out ahead and she obviously is an even greater force for me”, he declared.

"I was about to stop playing when I found out because I wanted to be with her," said Pipita, who revealed that he continued at the express request of his mother Nancy: "I think my mother's life went beyond everything and I put it in the absolute foreground, I was not interested in anything. And it was she who later asked me to continue and I sincerely followed for her”.
