The last hours should have been one of nervousness and happiness for the Columbus Crew players since they only thought about how to overcome Nashville SC for the MLS playoff semifinal but in the last minutes things changed completely since it is believed that at less 7 players will not be able to be in that match due to having Covid.

Although Columbus Crew has not yet released its official report, MLS analyst Manuel Vaquero has said that there are 7 players who will not be able to be for the game against Nashville. Vaquero confirmed that the list of infected players was unofficially filtered and that one of the most important names is that of the goalkeeper Eloy Room.

Columbus Crew came as a clear favorite to stay with that game against Nashville but with this problem things changed. In addition to Eloy Room, the rest of the players who will not be able to face Nashville are: Waylon Francis, Sebastian Berhalter, Miguel Berry, Derrik Ettiene Jr, Jon Kempin and Vito Woormgoor.

We will have to wait for the Columbus Crew to release a statement to find out what happened so that so many players from the same team have been infected. This news will surely have consequences in MLS and there could be serious penalties in the future. What we do know for now is that through negligence or mistake, many players will miss the biggest game of the year for Columbus Crew.
