Christian Pulisic has revealed that he is going to try very hard to get his body in good shape ahead of the 2021-22 season. The United States international says he wants to be available for selection as much as possible under Thomas Tuchel.

After scoring in Chelsea’s 6 – 1 victory over Peterborough in the pre-season, the former Borussia Dortmund player says he is excited to have a first full pre-season with the Chelsea team in Ireland. Pulisic moved to Chelsea during the 2019 summer transfer window and was unable to take part in that pre-season. Injuries also stopped him from joining the pre-season drills at the start of the 2020-21 season.

The United States Soccer poster boy told the official Chelsea website:  "I think that’s going to be a big positive for me, so I’m looking forward to the start of the season. This year is my first real full pre-season at Chelsea and it’s just given me a good chance to get my full fitness and for me to get 100 per cent fit and ready to play 90 minutes once the season begins.”

"That’s the aim for me, just trying to get my body in a good place where I can be available as much as possible this season. Hitting the ground running at the start of the season is the goal, of course. It’s nice to be able to have a full pre-season this time and get nice and fit and be 100 per cent ready in time for the start of the season."

The 22-year-old winger will be hoping to avoid major injury worries that have bogged him down during his time at Stamford Bridge. His record stands at 17 goals and 14 assists in 77 appearances so far at the London side.
