Sebastián Blanco's face was revealing when he was forced to leave the soccer field last Sunday against Seattle Sounders. Rapidly tears fell when doctors palpated his knee. And now the worst news are confirmed. The Argentinean will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL in his right knee.
According to the Portland Timbers officials, Blanco will undergo surgery next Monday, with a schedule for his returning following the results of the invervention. On Sunday, Blanco’s right leg buckled in a dual with João Paulo and immediately collapsed to the turf in severe discomfort.
It has been three years since the attacking midfielder joined The Timbers. He has achieved 33 goals and 39 assists in 121 games where he started in the first team for 115 times. Until Sunday's situation, Blanco was rank tied for third most assistant in this season with five. Undoubtly a sensitive lose to the MLS is Back Tournament champions.
