The MLS season is near to get to an end. Columbus Crew has ended as the finalist of the Eastern Conference, while Minnesota United FC and Seattle Sounders FC will play to gain the title of the Wester Conference in the MLS Cup Playoffs and then reach the final.

But the MVP of the season was already chosen and the winner doesn’t appear in the three teams that reach the end of the campaign with good results. The winner is Alejandro Pozuelo, the Spanish offensive midfielder who plays for Toronto FC and has been picked as the best one of the U.S. league.

At the age of 29, he won the award leaving behind some other top players. Pozuelo received 35.35% of the votes made by player, coaches and journalists, while Diego Rossi ended with 17.80% and Nicolás Lodeiro with 10.58%. The stats of the winner this season were nine goals scored and 10 assists given (the one who gave the most).

Pozuelo was born at Sevilla and his career started at Real Betis. He played there until July 2013 when he moved to Swansea City. A year later he arrived for free to Rayo Vallecano and then moved to KRC Genk. The Belgium side sold him for $10 million to the Canadian club, that is already taking advantage of his signing.
