January 2021 has finally arrived and that means that there is a bunch of top stars that may leave for free on soccer world. As many contracts end on June of this year and the renewals haven’t yet been made, there is a list of figures who may now negotiate as a free agent a change of club.

The most emblematic case is the one of Lionel Messi. The Argentine tried to leave FC Barcelona during the past transfer window, but he was not able to do so. With his contract ending on six months, the legend showed no intentions yet of signing a renewal and Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and MLS sides are chasing him.

Another top player who could now leave for free is Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid. The Spanish defender hasn’t yet talked with Florentino Pérez about his continuity and, at his 34 years, he could also move on. Ramos joined the Galacticos on 2005 from Sevilla, meaning that his departure could end a 15-year relationship with his beloved club.

There is a huge list of other players who can now negotiate as free agents, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who may leave AC Milan at his 39 years old. The most remarkable others who conform this list are David Alaba (Bayern Munich), Memphis Depay (Olympique Lyon), Giorginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) and Ángel Di María (PSG).
