Gonzalo Pity Martínez had been transferred to Saudi Arabia in this transfer window. This meant a significant loss for Atlanta United. However, the team led by Stephen Glass brought in another Argentinian winger: Marcelino Moreno. Their new gem comes from Lanús and the fee paid was 7 million dollars. Glass has many expectations placed on him.

Moreno arrived to the United States three weeks ago, however, the MLS had only recently authorized him to play. Next Saturday Atlanta will face the New York Red Bulls and the offensive midfielder could make his official debut. He has everything needed to replace Martínez, which was recognized by team officials.

Carlos Bocanegra, Atlanta United's vice president and former American footballer, is pleased with their new playmaker. He thinks Moreno is a dynamic player who can add speed and versatility to the field's last quarter. However, the Argentinian winger will have to convince Stephen Glass that he is the best suit for the squad, with Glass's favorite Jon Gallagher playing really well.

Moreno will join a list of four other Argentinians on the Georgia squad: Fernando Meza, Eric Remedi, Franco Escobar and Ezequiel Barco, another probable rival in earning a spot at the starting line up. The fans are very excited about Marcelino's arrival. Next Saturday they may be able to watch him do his job on the field.
