Javier Hernández landed in the MLS after a large period playing in Europe. The Mexican attacker left Sevilla in January 2020 after receiving an offer of $9 million made by LA Galaxy. Both clubs accepted and the attacker left Europe after a decade playing in that continent.

Chicharito transformed then into one of the best paid players in the MLS. Yearly he gains $6 million, even more than what he received when playing in Spain during these last years. In the ranking of the best paid players of the league, he occupies the fifth position, after Gonzalo Higuaín, Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore and Carlos Vela.

Hernández is 32 years old and his time at LA Galaxy isn’t going as he was probably expecting. In his first season, his team couldn’t qualify to the MLS Cup Playoffs, which resulted in the expulsion of head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto. The forward suffered some injuries and wasn’t able to play as many games as he wanted.

All in all, CH14 scored just two goals after 12 matches. Receiving one of the best salaries of the MLS and having such a bad performance was not a problem for LA Galaxy, that decided to bet on him again and renew his contract. Nowadays, he is training hard preparing for his second campaign in the United States league.

A future out of the MLS?

Recently, it was rumored that Javier Hernández could be leaving the MLS. There are many teams that would love to have an attacker of his conditions, and the possibilities of him returning to Chivas increased. Chicharito played in the Liga MX side when he was a promise, scoring 29 goals in 78 appearances.
