Víctor Vucetich had a very hard year at Chivas. The head coach experienced several difficulties while working with a squad in which he had many problems. The main ones were those that players committing undisciplined acts made and make the trainer take the decision of axing them.
Getting to the end of the season, the Rebaño Sagrado qualified in tournament Guard1anes and will be playing the quarter-finals against Club America on Wednesday and Sunday. The great missing on the match will be José Juan Macías, who is still recovering from an injury and won’t play the match.
Vucetich thought that he may be recovering for these games, but doctors assured that he needs to rest even more before going back to the pitch. The coach is mad, as the player didn’t complete a good regular season as well and was many times criticized by the fans.
Macías scored five goals after 15 games in this tournament and was injured three times in the campaign. With a contract remaining until June 2022, Vucetich and sport adviser Ricardo Peláez think that the attacker could be sold for the next season and that a good replacement could be bought with that money.
