Carlos Vela spent a big time of his career at Real Sociedad. The Mexican idol arrived to the Spanish side first on a loan from Arsenal, at 2011, an afterwards on a permanent move, closed for more than $16 million on August 2012. Just six years later he left, to play at MLS side LAFC.

But, the Mexican legacy at Real Sociedad may continue now, as the club is interested on signing a player from Chivas who could continue this tradition. The attacker José Juan Macias, who is leaving Chivas soon, is set to move to the Spanish club on January, as press from that country assured the deal was closed.

Real Sociedad is going through a great moment under Imano Alguacil. After eight games played in La Liga they won five games, tied two and lost only one, earning 17 points and being currently the team leading the competition above Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid or FC Barcelona.

The deal of Macías could me made soon, but is linked to the departure of Willian José, who the club is expecting to sell for a fortune soon. Macías was formed at Chivas, left once to play on a loan at León, and then came back to the club that signed him until 2022. After a bad campaign of the Liga MX side and with the fans against him, the attacker is set to move.
