With the start of Major League Soccer (MLS), Mexican Javier Hernández Balcázar, better known as Chicharito Hernández, returned to his sporting level and scored again with the Los Angeles Galaxy. After the forced pause by COVID-19 and various ups and downs in the career of the Mexican scorer, Chicharito reconciled with the goal and in the match against Inter Miami he scored a double with which he gave the advantage and victory to his team for 3-2.

With his double score, Hernández inaugurated the first goals of his year at the start of the MLS tournament, he played the 90 minutes and during the second half he wore the team captain's badge. Despite the fact that at the end of the first half, the Galaxy team lost by the slightest difference of one goal, for the complementary part, Javier Hernández would turn the score around. The tying goal occurred at minute 61. With an assist from Ethan Zubak, Chicharito received the ball near Inter's goal. He turned around to shape himself and hit a goal, with a surdo shot he evened the score.

But by minute 68 the advantage of the Angelina squad fell, since due to an infraction committed in the small area, the whistler scored a penalty in favor of Miami, Gonzalo Higuaín was in charge of collecting it and taking the advantage again. The score was 2 - 1 in favor of the local squad, those led by Greg Vanney didn't lose sight of the goal of fighting for victory, the role played by Chicharito on the court gave his club the opportunity to match the mark.

The Mexican chased the ball until the 72nd minute returned to equalize the score, in a long-distance shot in the direction of the rival goal, goalkeeper John McCarthy managed to deflect the shot but Chicharito was close to the rebound, stretched his leg and with a sweep managed to score his second goal.

With this play, the man from Guadalajara celebrated his second touchdown in the first MLS game. His double benefited Los Angeles' defense changed the score to 2-2, so in the 81st minute Sacha Kljestan scored the third goal for the Galaxy and with that to give the game the fly.

The final result was 3 - 2 in favor of the Los Angeles team. Hernández shared minutes with Jonathan dos Santos, selected from Tata Martino for Selection. Jonathan wore the captain's badge until the 70th minute, when he was replaced by Sacha Kljestan, that was when he gave up command to Chicharito.
