Hector Herrera is one of the best Mexican players of the moment and today he proved it again in the match between Atletico Madrid (Spain) and Bayern Munich (Germany) (1-1) for the group stage of the champions league.

The Mexican player who entered the second half and returned from an injury, had a good participation in the game and he also was able to break a record that Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez had. Despite this, the Spanish press says that Herrera may leave the club in December.

As of today, Herrera is the Mexican player who played the most games in the history of the Champions League, the Mexican played his game number 47 and beat Chicharito Hernandez who has 46.

Herrera began his career in Pachuca, where he played three years and then he came to Europe. There, he played in Porto (Portugal) for six years. His good performances made Atletico Madrid buy him two years ago. Herrera won three tournaments in his career, all in Portugal.
