Carlos Vela had a very special career. The Mexican attacker played very important matches in his career, including those in the World Cup or on the Champions League. He faced top players and legends, as Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, but now Vela will have a very emotional match.
The Concachampions will go back soon, after it was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament is on the quarter-finals and LAFC will be facing Cruz Azul. That means that Vela will be facing once again a Mexican side, something that he couldn’t do almost during all of his career, that he spent a Europe.
During the Concachampions on February, LAFC faced Leon and won 3-2 the series against the Mexican side, with Vela scoring two very important goals. Now, he will have once again the chance to clash a team from his nationality, playing against Cruz Azul. Those are always very emotional and important games for him.
Vela quitted his national team and almost didn’t face Mexican clubs in his career. He was born in Cancún, but he left very soon from Chivas, his former side, to Europe. He first played at Arsenal, then at Celta de Vigo, at UD Salamanca, at CA Osasuna, at West Bromwich and at Real Sociedad, before going to LAFC.
