Cristian Pavón was one of the best players from LA Galaxy since his arrival. The Argentinian winger played 35 matches for the MLS side, in which he scored 14 goals and gave nine assists. But the loan from which Boca Juniors let him out ended, and he returned to his previous club, considering that the purchase option set at $20 million was too expensive.

Boca and LA Galaxy arranged that clause before the COVID-19 pandemic and, after the global crisis, the U.S. team considered that it was too high to pay. After that negotiation, LA Galaxy offered Boca $8 million for half of the transfer of the player, adding that he will continue playing with them.

Boca rejected the second bid and told the player that he must join the team on January 1. Pavón is 24 years old and has a reported value of $15 million, according to specialized website Transfermarkt. With a contract until June 2022 with the Argentinian side, he has no better option that return to train with Boca if the bid is rejected.

Pavón arrived to LA Galaxy when Guillermo Barros Schelotto was the head coach and after the departure of the trainer he could leave as well. The past season was too bad for the club, that didn’t make it to the MLS Cup Playoffs. With o without Pavón, LA Galaxy will need to make a better campaign next year.
