Chelsea splashed £58m to sign American soccer star Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 but immediately loaned him back to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season and only joined up with the squad ahead of the 2019/20 season under Frank Lampard.
Despite a slow start and a season hampered by injuries he produced the best attacking returns of any Chelsea player with 11 goals and 11 assists including a hat-trick against Burnley in his first start. His renaissance alongside Olivier Giroud at the end of the season helped the club secure Champions League football for the 2020/21 season.
His injury in the 2020 FA Cup final denied him of a silverware in his first season, he scored the opening goal and was clear on goal for his second before pulling a hamstring which ruled him out for months. He was instrumental in the UEFA Champions League win last season with an important goal against Real Madrid.
He has suffered 11 different injuries at Chelsea which has kept him out of action for a total of 38 games and still counting. As of the time of writing this report, he has missed 341 games of action. That is almost a year which makes it a bad investment for Chelsea so far.
