The Mexican shone in the Los Angeles Galaxy win over Inter Miami
LA Galaxy's Mexican forward Javier Hernández was named Major League Soccer Player of the Week, corresponding to matchday 1 of the 2021 MLS season. Chicharito was instrumental in his team's 3-2 victory over Inter Miami, after scoring a double on Sunday during the opening day of MLS.
Trailing 1-0 after halftime, Hernández leveled the game by receiving a cross from Ethan Zubak in the center of the area, and with a half-turn to remove the rival, he sent the ball to the corner in the 62nd minute. Later, when the victory of Inter Miami CF seemed on track, the Mexican attacker scored the 2-2 set at minute 73.
After his brilliant start to the season, his second with the Galaxy in MLS, the Mexican forward talked about his previous work. “In the end, sooner or later everything is worth it. Those who work very hard, those who persevere, those who persevere, in the end, things work out”, said Hernández.
The LA Galaxy returns to the court this weekend against the New York Red Bulls in their first home game at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday.
