Chicharito Hernández has been trying during this year to transform into the best MLS player. The Mexican signed for LA Galaxy on January 2020 for $9 million after leaving Sevilla and ended that way his professional career in Europe that lasted 10 years. The last time he played outside that continent was at the very beginning, when he was a youth at Chivas.

Despite his effort, CH14 couldn’t prove this year his talent and conditions as LA Galaxy suffered a tremendous season and were eliminated on the regular season. The qualification for the MLS Cup Playoffs wasn’t possible and a scandal exploded, leaving head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto as a free agent.

But Chicharito always tried to overcome the shadow from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, greatest player from LA Galaxy before his arrival, and from Carlos Vela, his biggest rival playing at LAFC. All in all, we may affirm so far that he wasn’t able to do it better neither than the first one nor the second one.

On the 25 anniversaries of the league, the MLS is trying to find to the best goal scored so far and Vela received one nomination (for his goal against San Jose Earthquakes on August 2019) while Zlatan received two (scores against Toronto on September 2018 and against LAFC on March 2018). Chicharito received no call for this contest and ended a step behind the two other idols from the league.
