A few, perhaps only Javier Chicharito Hernández himself, believed that a goal-scoring start was possible like the Mexican striker of the Los Angeles Galaxy has had in the first two dates of the MLS 2021 season: he scored five goals and was chosen twice as the Week Player of the League.

Since the 2018-19 season in the Premier League, ChicharitoHernández didn't score five or more goals in a single campaign. By then he was wearing the West Ham jersey and finished with 7 goals in 25 games. The turn to see the Mexican attacker shine is for the MLS.

In the Los Angeles Galaxy's 3-2 win over Inter Miami, Chicharito dispatched himself with two goals and barely readied his artillery. The second date of MLS 2021 arrived and in the victory over New York Red Bulls by the same score came another three entries by Hernández.

The third date for the Chicharito and company team will be against Seattle Sounders, Sunday, May 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET, and there is no better motivation for the forward than to beat a record that has not occurred since the 1999 season. Javier Hernández alone needs two goals.

The record that Chicharito Hernández can break in MLS

According to Elías Sports Bureau, the record for the most goals scored in the first three games of a season in MLS is held by Ante Razov and his six touchdowns with Chicago Fire in 1999. If Javier Chicharito Hernández scores two goals, he will surpass this mark and confirm that he is more current than ever.
