Carlos Vela vs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic: the fight broke out between the figures in search of this historical record

Carlos Vela and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has transformed into greatest rivals since the time in which the Mexican played at LAFC and the Swedish did so at LA Galaxy. The El Trafico derby meant then a tremendous confrontation between the two most talented players of the MLS on those days.

But on January of this year Ibra decided to leave LA Galaxy to play once again in Europe and signed a contract with AC Milan, where he transformed once again into a top European player. When everything indicated that the rivalry was now a thing of the past, old grudges revived in the hunt of an award.

The MLS is trying to find the best goal in its history after 25 years of the league and both Vela and Ibrahimovic are nominee and fighting to win the contest. 25 goals have been preselected and Vela has a nomination, of his score against San Jose Earthquakes on August 2019.

Zlatan has double chances as his goal against Toronto on September 2018 and the one against LAFC on March 2018 are both nominees. Digital staff from the league has made the preselection but now fans will choose for a winner in the official page of the MLS. Vela and Ibrahimovic, once again head to head for the big award.
