FC Barcelona’s coach Xavi Hernandez suffered another big blow from the poor finances of his club, as the Catalan manager won’t be able to count on one of the top priority signings he had recently asked to his president Joan Laporta, who couldn’t afford the exigences of his manager to secure the arrival of a €7 million-rated player to Barcelona.

The player in question would be the English 28-year-old midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, who had been tracked by FC Barcelona according to the British media and will finally sign for West Ham instead of Barça for less than €10 million after the Culers’ financial proposal didn’t convince to the player nor Manchester City.
In this sense, it would be worth mentioning that Kalvin Phillips would arrive to West Ham on a six-month loan transfer, a deal which could not be completed by FC Barcelona due to the financial problems they are facing this season to enroll in the Spanish league to the players they want to sign in the market.

The dramatic situation faced by Barça is totally contrary to the one lived by Real Madrid on these days, as the Madrilean giant smashes unrivaled in the transfer market by offering huge amounts of money for young promising prospects such as the one of Arda Güler (€20 million) or Jeremy De Leon, who recently sealed his arrival to the Whites from Castellon for the next summer.
