During the event, President Ayuso lauded the awardees, stating that they embody the "non-conformist spirit of this region, an economic and social engine of Spain that is more alive, healthier, and sportier every day." She passionately highlighted sport as "authentic preventive medicine that takes care of both physical and emotional health."

President Ayuso further emphasized her government's commitment to bolstering the region's sporting infrastructure. She pledged to continue working with determination to expand the sports network, supporting federations, clubs, and athletes across Madrid's 179 municipalities. Her vision also includes promoting physical activity in schools and institutes and tirelessly working to attract major international events that project Madrid's image globally. Among these ambitious plans, she cited the Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2026, the first NFL game in Spain at the Santiago Bernabéu next November, and the EuroBasket in 2029.

The gala itself was filled with inspiring and original moments, celebrating not just the athletic prowess but also the dedication and resilience of these champions. Kroos's presence, fresh off his stellar farewell from professional football, added a poignant note to the festivities, acknowledging his immense contribution to sport in Spain. The event served as a powerful testament to the transformative power of sport and Madrid's commitment to fostering a vibrant athletic culture.
