After two consecutive winless games in the Premier League, Manchester United fans once again question their manager, Erik Ten Hag, this season. The pressure grew after the poor display against Brentford in the 1-1 draw last weekend and the 4-3 loss against Chelsea during the week. Man United is 6th in the Premier League table with 48 games, and with eight league games left of the season, it seems to get more difficult to reach Champions League places. Aston Villa occupies the 4th position with 59 points, and if England receives the extra spot for the Champions League next season, Man United is nine points below 5th place Tottenham, who are on 57 points. Ten Hag's future may depend on Champions League qualification, but some reports suggest that it might not matter.

Laurie Whitehall from the Athletic reports that INEOS would like to stick with Erik ten Hag, and he would also like to stay at Manchester United. There has been a good sense of collaboration and discussions between Ten Hag, Sir Dave Brailsford, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Several figures at Manchester United feel Erik Ten Hag deserves the chance to operate in a new structure populated by people whom Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Brailsford regard as “best in class.”

i Sport reports something similar, but the club also has a plan in case they do decide to sack Ten Hag. Despite suffering two agonizing stoppage-time setbacks in the past week, Erik Ten Hag is not thought to be under immediate threat of being sacked as Manchester United manager, partly down to a lack of viable, interested alternatives. INEOS have placed Julian Nagelsmann high on their shortlist for the next Manchester United manager if they sack Erik Ten Hag. Naglesmann is keen to stay on as Germany's manager after the Euros but could be persuaded to join United should Germany have a poor tournament.

Jurgen Klopp on their previous loss against Manchester United

Manchester United will play Liverpool tomorrow in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Their last encounter was in the FA Cup at Old Trafford, where Man United won 4-3 last month. Klopp spoke about that loss ahead of this next fixture and said, "United played I don’t know how many less games than we had until then. But the game was brilliant in moments, absolutely brilliant, but we did not have the legs that day obviously to use it."
