Barcelona is considering making a serious go and stealing Erling Haaland from Real Madrid who has prioritized Kylian Mbappe as their number-one transfer target to complete their Galacticos project.

The Blaugrana has lost ground on their La Liga archrivals in the transfer market because of the financial troubles, benefiting largely from top players wanting to fulfill their childhood dreams and join the club.

Barca President Joan Laporta had made his intentions clear on Haaland while he was still at Borussia Dortmund, but he ended up choosing the "other Barcelona" of England, Manchester City instead.

They did manage to bring in Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich but things haven't worked out as planned, as the Polish striker hasn't been able to bring his insane scoring form from the Bundesliga to Spain.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Laporta is ready to add Lewa to the transfer list along with Jules Kounde and Raphinha and clear up space to bring the big Norwegian to Camp Nou for the new season.

Desperate times

The rise of a new challenger in La Liga, Girona, led by Pere Guardiola the brother of Man City manager Pep Guardiola, has caused Barca to panic as they may no longer be the club famous for beautiful football.

They want to make Haaland the centerpiece of Xavi's new generation of La Masia-made stars, Pedri, Gavi, Balde, and the highly-rated Yamal in the new campaign.

There is interest for Lewandowski in Saudi Arabia who have previously made an offer for the former Poland captain, but it remains to be seen if there will be offers for Kounde and Raphinha.

Barca is encouraged by the strong ties to Haaland's agent Rafaela Pimenta, who has previously said; "I always say that Laporta can't ask me for anything in football, it's not fair, because he knows I'm going to say yes," in an interview with AS.
