Al Hilal signed Neymar Jr from PSG in the last summer transfer window with the hope that the Brazilian would carry them to glory. That hope quickly died in October as Neymar suffered an ACL injury with the Brazilian national team against Uruguay in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. Despite Neymar's injury, Al Hilal seems to not miss him in the slightest. Al Hilal is dominating the Saudi Pro League as they remain first in the table with no losses. The team played 23 games, winning 21 games and drawing two. Al Hilal could break a historic record tomorrow in the AFC Champions League.

Al Hilal were at risk of losing their first league game of the season against Al Riyadh a few days ago. Al Hilal trailed 1-0 in the 52nd minute due to Al Bulayhi's own goal. A penalty by Ruben Neves in the 66th minute was the equalizer. Michael scored in the 75th minute to give Al Hilal the 2-1 lead. Mitrovic scored in the 93rd minute via penalty to secure another win. With this win, Al Hilal equaled a historic world record.

The win against Al Riyadh is Al Hilal's 27th consecutive victory in all competitions. This equals the world record of Welsh's team, The New Saints, who also won 27 games in a row. Al Hilal plays in the second leg of the AFC Champions League Quarterfinals, where they are leading 2-0 on aggregate. If Al Hilal beats Al Ittihad tomorrow, they set a new world record of 28 consecutive wins in all competitions. It has been a historic campaign this season for Al Hilal, even without Neymar.
