Atletico Madrid are already preparing for a possible shake-up in their attacking line-up. With Antoine Griezmann reportedly close to a move to Los Angeles FC, the club are weighing up potential replacements—and one name stands out: Paulo Dybala.

According to Todo Fichajes, the Argentine forward has emerged as a serious candidate to take over from Griezmann if he does indeed leave this summer. Dybala fits the profile Diego Simeone is looking for: creative, technically gifted, intelligent on the ball, and capable of scoring as well as assisting.

Dybala, currently at AS Roma, will be available for a bargain fee this summer. Between 1 and 31 July 2025, a release clause in his contract allows him to leave for just €12 million—a surprisingly low figure given his talent and top-level experience. He recently extended his deal with Roma until 2026, but that clause makes him a tempting opportunity for clubs looking to strengthen without breaking the bank.

Atletico see Dybala as a player who can offer instant impact while also bringing leadership and personality to the dressing room. If Griezmann departs, the club will need someone with the star quality to fill the void—both on and off the pitch.

Despite a few injury setbacks in recent seasons, Dybala has remained a key figure for Roma. His vision, flair and ability to unlock tight defences make him a natural fit for La Liga, and his previous experience in European competitions only adds to his appeal. For Simeone, who values tactical discipline and strong character, Dybala ticks a lot of boxes.

As it stands, there are no formal negotiations, but the interest is real. Atletico are keeping close tabs on the situation, aware that the summer window could bring major changes.

Dybala, the low-cost gem waiting in the wings

With Griezmann’s exit looking increasingly likely, Paulo Dybala represents a smart and affordable solution. Atletico Madrid could move quickly to secure the Argentine and ensure their attacking power remains intact for the next chapter under Simeone.
