Manchester City looks comfortable as always in the Etihad Stadium as they lead 2-0 at halftime against Burnley. Julian Alvarez scores a brace on his birthday and is leading Man City to their 8th consecutive win in all competitions.

Manchester City started off strong, almost capitalizing on mistakes at the back by Burnley. City dominated possession as always, and Burnley couldn't get near the ball. The first goal finally arrived in the 16th minute with Matheus Nunes, who started for the first time since Man City's 3-1 win against Everton in December.

Matheus Nunes dribbles in the Burnley box, but after a failed low cross, the ball goes back to the feet of the Portuguese. Nunes has the composure and patience to wait for support until he finds Julian Alvarez. He crosses a ball into the box to Alvarez, who heads the ball in from close range.

The next goal was even better after Man City was awarded a free kick. Kevin De Bruyne looks into the box to whip a cross, but he fools everyone. Instead of whipping a great cross in the box, he passes a low-driven pass to Alvarez in the middle of the pitch. Alvarez makes a great run towards the ball and pokes the ball past Trafford to make it 2-0. De Bruyne makes history with getting another assist in his Premier League career.

Kevin De Bruyne has now provided more Premier League assists (104) than Wayne Rooney (103) in the Premier League. The Belgian is now third in the all-time assists, standing just under Cesc Fabregas with 111 assists and Ryan Giggs, who has 162 assists.
