Karim Benzema joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad last summer on a free transfer from Real Madrid. Benzema signed a two-year contract with Al-Ittihad with an option to stay until 2026. Benzema will be earning 100 million euros a season and will receive add-ons.

Benzema has been rumored to leave the club because of his desire to play in Europe again. Benzema did not appear in training for two weeks with the team, and Al-Ittihad manager Marcelo Gallardo did not call the French striker for discipline reasons. He reportedly missed 17 days of training after his winter break, and Gallardo made a tough choice to keep him on the bench for the restart of the Saudi Pro League.

The Saudi Pro League will return in early February, and Al-Ittihad will play the first game back against Al Taee. Benzema asked for permission to leave the club on loan and has reportedly looked at different options. Premier League clubs have expressed their interest in the former Real Madrid striker. Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are the most interested in the striker and could benefit from his services since they struggle to find a cheap alternative for a natural striker.

Chelsea and Man United struggle to score goals with their young, inexperienced players, while Arsenal wants a striker to score more than 10 goals a season since they lack that with Gabriel Jesus. Benzema has shut down rumors of wanting to leave Saudi Arabia. A recent rumor circulating online is that Real Madrid wanted to bring the French striker back after just six months leaving the club.
