Many great managers have coached Cristiano Ronaldo throughout his career. Ronaldo had a good time in Real Madrid with his fellow countryman, Jose Mourinho. Mourinho is one of the best football coaches of all time and has found success in many countries, such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, and England. Mourinho is currently not coaching after getting sacked by AS Roma earlier this year but he has plans to coach this summer. In an exclusive interview with Fabrizio Romano, Mourinho talked about his future and was asked what he believes is the right path for his career.

When Mourinho sat down to talk with Fabrizio Romano, he was asked about his future in becoming a manager again. Mourinho said, "I’m ready to start again. I don’t need to rest or think as usually happens... I'm ready. I feel strong and good, I’m really ready. But I don’t want to make the wrong choice. I have to be patient. My objective is to start again next summer”.

Mourinho said he is more than a coach and shows pride in his work. Mourinho said, "I’m always going to be more than a coach. In some clubs you’re the coach, in other clubs you have to be coach, technical director, communication director, image guy defending club and players… I want to be a coach. I was the coach at Inter, at Real Madrid, at Chelsea, at Porto. In some other clubs, I wasn’t the coach."

He also revealed he was asked to be the coach for Portugal twice in his career. Mourinho said, "I had the door open to be Portugal coach twice. First time when I was at Real Madrid but Florentino told me: no chance. The second time was at Roma, I was sacked few months later… but I don’t regret that because I’m happy with the reason."

Mourinho opens the door to coach in Saudi Arabia

Jose Mourinho was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo and potentially coaching in Saudi Arabia. Mourinho said, "I believe that Cristiano Ronaldo was the first to open the door to Saudi Arabia for people who think it is impossible to live there and enjoy the country’s development. Becoming coach of a Saudi Pro League club? If you ask me in the future… never say never. I had an important proposal, but I said no as I was committed to AS Roma.
