Following Real Madrid's bitter exit from the Champions League at the hands of Arsenal, the club's management has begun to make crucial decisions regarding their squad for the upcoming season. Aware that a major overhaul is necessary to compete at the highest level next year, the club has already devised a plan which includes several departures in the upcoming transfer window. Players who have failed to meet expectations and whose performances have been far below the required standard seem set to leave in the coming months.
One of the most notable names on the departure list is Fran García. Despite being given opportunities to prove himself, the left-back has not been able to establish himself as a reliable option. His performances have been inconsistent, both defensively and offensively, and he has not reached the level required by the club, making him a prime candidate for departure this summer.
David Alaba, despite his history at the club, also seems to have no place in the new project. Ongoing injuries and a lack of consistency have marred his recent performances, making it clear that Real Madrid will be seeking more reliable options for their defence. His poor form this season has led the club to explore other solutions for that area of the pitch.
Aurélien Tchouaméni's case is another one that needs resolving. Despite arriving with high expectations and being considered a key addition to the midfield, the Frenchman has failed to establish himself as a regular starter. His lack of impact in crucial moments and his underwhelming performances have cast doubt on his future at the club.
Lucas Vázquez, having been used primarily as a fill-in during injury crises, also appears to be heading for the exit. While his versatility has been useful, his level of play has not been sufficient to compete at the highest European level. Despite his adaptability, he has not convinced enough to retain a spot in the team.
Lastly, Arda Güler, the young Turkish talent who arrived with great promise, has not managed to earn his place in the first team. Despite his technical ability, his limited minutes and lack of impact on the pitch have led to questions about his adaptation. It is likely that Real Madrid will look to loan him out for further development away from the pressure of the Madrid spotlight.
This summer, Valdebebas is set to undergo a critical restructuring process. With these players on the brink of leaving, and a need for significant changes, the club is preparing for a new chapter that will allow them to bounce back and challenge for the top honours. A period of renewal is on the horizon for Real Madrid, and with a revamped squad, they will aim to return to the pinnacle of world football.
This Summer After a disappointing season finale and key decisions being made in the boardroom, Real Madrid is ready to overhaul their squad, with significant exits making way for new arrivals.
