Kylian Mbappe raised concerns within Real Madrid after being forced off early in the second leg against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals. The French striker appeared visibly uncomfortable, showing signs of pain in his right ankle before leaving the pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to journalist Javier Herraez, citing sources from the club's medical team, Mbappe has sustained a mild ankle sprain. Although it is not considered a serious issue, further medical tests have been scheduled for Friday to closely monitor the injury and track his recovery.
His absence midway through the second half was a blow for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who were already trailing in the tie. Without their star forward, Los Blancos lost another attacking reference, further limiting their chances of staging a comeback.
Mbappe had been one of the most anticipated players for the business end of the season, but his impact across the two legs was disappointing — no goals, no assists. Despite this, his role remains vital as Real Madrid push for domestic success.
Initial signs suggest the injury is not a major setback, but the club are taking no chances. The priority is a full recovery, with plenty of important fixtures still to be played in La Liga.
Real Madrid now turn their attention to a massive final against Barcelona, with just 10 days left. The potential absence of Mbappe in such a decisive match could prove costly at the most critical point of the campaign.
