Chelsea struggled, but the Blues advanced to the quarterfinals after they defeated Leeds United 3-2 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea looks to continue a good momentum ahead of the rest of the season as the club wants to qualify for Europe and possibly win the FA Cup. Mauricio Pochettino spoke about what the win meant to him and the team after suffering the loss in the EFL Cup final the past weekend.

Pochettino spoke after the game, recognizing it wasn't a great performance against Leeds United but is happy to win in it in 90 minutes. Pochettino said, "We needed this result, but it wasn't a great performance. We are so happy in the end, we avoided extra-time and are in the quarter-final. It's always tough when you lose a final on Sunday with 72 hours or less to recover."

Pochettino wants to continue the momentum they have since it was stopped at the English League Cup final against Liverpool. Pochettino said, "In the last four weeks, we are doing a fantastic job. The team is fighting and starting to behave as a team... We need time. The players are young, and they need to play if they want to evolve. It is true we need to compete and win games."

The win, in the Argentinian coach's eyes, is a boost of confidence for the team. He says, "Of course, it is about building our confidence again. When you face a team like Leeds, they are full of confidence, and it is not easy when you start losing the game. The team is in good spirit and the relationship with the players is in a very good way."
