Al Nassr is preparing to submit a request for a team of foreign officials for the Al Khaleej game in the King’s Cup semi-finals after the recent red card that Cristiano Ronaldo received. Ronaldo and Al Nassr were not happy with the officiating in the Al Hilal game last week in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final. The referee, Mohammed Al Hoaish, sent off Ronaldo for aggression on an Al Hilal player late in the game, and the Portuguese striker was furious. Ronaldo was mad at halftime as his team scored a goal, but it was disallowed because the Portuguese attempted to get to the goal from an offside position.
Al Hilal was leading 2-0 in the second half, and the frustration started to grow in the Al Nassr team. Ronaldo tried to play the ball from a throw, but an Al Hilal player prevented him. The Portuguese striker elbowed him, and all chaos broke loose. The referee approached Ronaldo, and he sent him off with a straight red card. Fans in the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium captured the whole incident.
After Ronaldo was sent off, the Portuguese wanted to hit the referee with the ball, but he held himself back. Ronaldo took his time to walk off the pitch and sarcastically applauded the referee for his job that game. Al Nassr lost 2-1 and was eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup. The only trophy that the team is looking to play for is the King's Cup.
On May 1st, Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr will play against Al Khaleej in the King's Cup semi-finals. Before that match, Al Nassr will play Al Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League on April 27th. Their next game will be against Al Fayha in the Saudi Pro League this Friday.
