FC Barcelona could potentially look at appointing Jose Mourinho after Xavi's failure with Barca in the Champions League and offer the Portuguese manager $9.5 million since he earned that in his previous club, AS Roma. Mourinho's time at Real Madrid was very similar in terms of his salary as he earned more than $9.5 million with Los Blancos yearly. Xavi reportedly earns $8.5 million a year with FC Barcelona right now, so either the Catalan club offers him that same salary to Mourinho or gives him near the $9.5 million he used to earn.

Mourinho's time in La Liga was short, as he spent three years at Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013. Mourinho managed 178 games in his three years where he guided Real Madrid with 127 wins, 28 draws, and 23 losses. In his first season in the 2010/2011 campaign, Madrid finished second with 92 points, while FC Barcelona won the league with 96 points.

In the 2011/2012 season, Mourinho's Real Madrid won the league title with 100 points, winning 32 games, drawing four, and losing two. They became the first side to reach 100 points in the Spanish league, and they also broke a record for the most goals from a team with 121 goals. In his last season, Madrid finished second again, but this time with 85 points, and FC Barcelona won the league with 100 points.

Xavi's reaction to FC Barcelona's elimination from the UCL by PSG

PSG eliminated FC Barcelona from the Champions League and advanced to the semi-finals to face Borussia Dortmund. PSG defeated Barca 4-1 today and won 6-4 on aggregate. Xavi spoke after the game and blamed the referee for the match's outcome. Xavi said, "It's a shame that this has come to this because of the referee's decisions. I told the referee that he was a 'disaster'. Even though I don't like to talk about referees, I have to say this today. Giving a red card for that [Araujo's red card] is too much. It's bad for football."
