There is no doubt that in 2023, Manchester City were the team of the year after winning the majority of the competitions in which they participated and, to top it all off, without Erling Haaland present, this Friday they were crowned champions of the 2023 Club World Cup with a 4-0 win over a Fluminense side that couldn't even get their hands on the ball. And although he did not play due to injury, Erling Haaland was crowned world champion.

From start to finish, Pep Guardiola's men dominated the game, created the most goalscoring opportunities and blocked any chances from their opponents, which were few and far between. Even goalkeeper Ederson did not have to soil his uniform as he was a spectator for the few interventions he made.

Elsewhere, Liverpool (38th) and Arsenal (39th) were at stake at the top of the Premier League on Matchday 18, with Mohamed Salah scoring a wonder goal at Anfield to equalise (29′) after Gabriel Magalhaes' goal (4′). The Egyptian received a long, inch-perfect, exquisite pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold; the striker brought the ball down, cut back from the right flank to the centre of the box and, at David Raya's post, slammed home with a left-footed shot to make it 1-1.

Salah's record

With this tally, Egypt's Mohamed Salah has now been directly involved in 121 goals in 120 Premier League games for Liverpool at Anfield (88 goals, 33 assists), the most by any player at the club. 121 - Mohamed Salah 120 - Steven Gerrard 100 - Robbie Fowler
