Inter Miami is experiencing an excellent moment. The arrival of Lionel Messi has brought immense joy not only to Miami  but also to fans across the nation who have enjoyed having the Argentine in the United States, match after match.

Messi's statistics speak for themselves: 10 goals in 8 matches played. The last time Messi had similar numbers was during his time at Barcelona. For this reason, Lionel's resurgence in MLS is generating high expectations.

The enthusiasm for Messi is not only evident among the fans but also in the prices people are willing to pay for the privilege of watching him play. In recent days, ticket prices for today's match against the Red Bulls have soared up to $3000.

However, on-field results are also crucial. Currently, Inter Miami finds itself at the bottom of the Eastern Conference in MLS. The Herons have gone 11 consecutive league matches without a win. Their most recent defeat was against Sporting KC, just a few days before Lionel Messi's arrival in Miami. Nevertheless, there's still a mathematical chance for Miami to make it to the playoffs.

What Inter needs to make it to the playoffs

Inter Miami needs approximately 25 points to secure a playoff spot. With 12 matches still to play, Gerardo Martino's team faces a challenging task. According to journalist Ari Liljenwall, the Florida-based team is 14 points behind Chicago Fire, which currently holds the ninth position in the MLS Standings. It's worth noting that the 8th and 9th positions guarantee a "Wild Card" entry to the playoffs. Thus, the ninth place ensures Messi and his teammates a chance to compete in the playoff play-in for a spot in the playoffs.
