Carlo Ancelotti puts the Croatian on a pedestal, Real Madrid coach, acknowledged that Modric's goal "changed" the match in Balaídos because his team in the second half knew how to "manage transitions well" to beat Celta Vigo.

"When the game opens up, with these players and their energy it is very complicated for the rivals. We were good in a back-and-forth match because we have a lot of energy and speed," said the Real Madrid coach in his appearance before journalists.

He also praised the performance of young Frenchman Aurélien Tchouaméni: “he played with a lot of personality at Real Madrid", but also spoke of Modric influence, who was given a standing ovation by Balaídos when he was substituted.

"He is paramount, he is always smart. His goal changed the match because up to that point it was evenly matched, they pushed a lot in the first half and we had difficulties in possession. In the second half they lowered the intensity and we managed the transitions well, they were spectacular," explained 'Carletto'.

Ancelotti also praised Benzema's gesture

Ancelotti highlighted Karim Benzema's "good gesture" with Eden Hazard, and played down the importance of the Belgian missing the penalty because "he has played little, but he has shown that he is coming back, attacking well and being intense". The Real Madrid tactician also made it clear that in order to manage his dressing room "well" it is necessary "the understanding of the veterans and the patience of the youngsters", for that reason he thanked all his players for their predisposition.
