Less and less is missing for Lionel Messi to officially become an Inter Miami footballer. Since this first of July, the man from Rosario has been a free agent after finishing his contract with PSG and now he has been authorized to sign with the Florida franchise. However, his presentation is scheduled for July 16.

Now, days before he landed in the MLS, Jorge Mas -president of Las Garzas- took the floor and spoke for the first time in public about the possibility of bringing Messi and Luis Suárez back together in the MLS club. “He has a contract and a termination clause. I don't know if it will happen or not," said the Inter Miami boss.

In this way, he left open the chance to pay the 70 million euros that Gremio is asking for to get rid of the Uruguayan. Along the same lines, Suárez had declared a few months ago: "Neymar, Messi and I hope to spend the last days of our career in the same club. Purely enjoy the joy of football and play football as we like and retire together. I don't know Neymar, but Messi and I will definitely be there together."

Inter Miami still winless

Lionel Messi's next team played a new MLS match on Saturday night. It was a 1-1 draw against Austin at home and, although it was not a victory, they managed to end a streak of seven consecutive losses in the United States league. Josef Martínez opened the market, but after a few minutes Nick Lima reestablished the parity that would last until the end.
