Racism is a very difficult topic for FIFA, they have created campaigns to fight every type of discrimination or hate crimes made on players or fans who have been victim, just yesterday we informed that La Liga would take legal actions against Atletico Madrid and two fans that attacked a mother and a daughter who were assisting to the Metropolitan Derby just because they were wearing a Vinicius Jr. jersey.

Now, Napoli’s Tik Tok account posted a racist video of their own player, Victor Osimhen, where he is represented as coconut, a video where they mock on the Nigerian player. The post was immediately deleted, nevertheless, multiple Tik Tok users were able to save this video, and exposed it on social media, putting in the spotlight the Napoli’s social media administrator.

The thing is it wasn’t just a video but two that were posted on Napoli’s Tik Tok account, the second one is not as offensive as the first one but still mocks on Victor Osimhen. The player’s manager, Robert Calenda, made a statement on the situation, “What happened today on Napoli's official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted”.

A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news”, and then Calenda added, “We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor”.

Racism is still a thing in European leagues

Vinicius Jr. suffered 10+ racist attacks during the 2021 season and has even been recorded by La Liga. The last and most famous case was in May 2021 when Real Madrid faced Valencia. Assistants and Valencia 's fans started to insult Vinicius Jr. The game had to be suspended until the whole stadium shut down the racism sayings.

Months later, with actions taken by Valencia and La Liga, the police could arrest seven persons who were involved in the beef against Vinicius Jr. But this isn’t the only two occasions the Spaniard football has been witness to these types of hate crimes.

Inaki Williams, the Spanish player has been subject of this racist comments when he used to play for Athletic, the first time was in a Gijon vs Athletic matchup in August 21 of 2016, as the was barely in the 22’ minute the whole attendants of the game started to make the sound a monkey does in order to attack Inaki Williams,

Marcelo, the former left wing from Real Madrid was also the protagonist of these types of insults in 2014 at Classic Metropolitan Derby matchup. When the game ended, with Real Madrid’s victory, Marcelo’s son jumped into the pitch to hug his dad who had a tremendous match.

Immediately, Atletico Madrid's fans started to chant: “Marcelo is a monkey”, “He is not your father” and “We hope your father dies” were some of the sayings. Real Madrid accused the racism attacks on his player, but in the end nothing happened to the aggressors.
