
A well known condecorated defensive player from Manchester City is back, and will stay until 2026 with the English club. Kyle Walker has resigned his contract extension with Pep Guardiola’s team towards the beginning of a new season.
Walker has played 260 games with Manchester City since his arrival in 2017, he has contributed to the conquest of five Premier League titles, two FA titles, two Community Shields, two Champions League and one Europe Supercoap.
The right defensive end (33) contract was due to end up just after the final of the last season, nevertheless, Kyle Walker could sign his extension for two more years, meaning Manchester City will have a reliable defensive player until 2026, and this is how they confirmed it.
“I have enjoyed every moment of the last six years at this fantastic Club. I have an incredible coach, great teammates and staff, and our fans are the best. I feel supported at all levels”, Walker added.
Txiki Begiristain, Manchester City coach, adds that Walker is an exceptional defensive, due to his speed, strength and experience, that makes him a fundamental piece to the chess table.
“For me, he is the best right back in the world, a player with unique qualities. He brings a very special dynamic to our team”, Begiristain said.
Walker was inducted into the PFA Team of the Year in 2017 after helping Pep Guardiola's Man City win the Premier League with a record of 100 points made. Last year was chosen for the UEFA Champions League Team of the season, when Manchester City won against Inter in Istanbul.
