Sergio Ramos' future is decided: he will play for Sevilla Fútbol Club this season. The Spanish centre back makes his return to Seville after 18 years. Former Real Madrid captain won everything with ‘Los Blancos’ and the team based in the capital city of Andalusia will enjoy of one of the greatest defenders of the generation.

Ramos reportedly rejected millionaire offers from Saudi Pro League teams and Turkey because he wanted to make an heroic return to his boyhood club where it all started. The 37 year-old defender stated during his presentation that his family and late Sevilla legend Antonio Puerta were the main reasons why he decided to go back to Sanchez Pizjuan stadium after his spell at PSG.

The world champion with Spain left Sevilla FC in 2005, when Real Madrid signed him for 28 million euros. Ramos' relationship with ‘Sevillistas’ has been tense since then. Every time Ramos played Sevilla during his Real Madrid days he was received with insults at Sanchez Pizjuan. Specially after an incident in 2017, when he scored against Sevilla and celebrated in front of Sevilla's Biris Norte stand provoking the fans.

Sergio Ramos asked for Sevilla fans forgiveness during his presentation at the club. “Hi Sevillistas. Today is a very special day for me. I'm finally back home and I'm wishing to wear Sevilla's kit again and defend this badge. 18 years have passed since I left. I made mistakes and I want to say sorry to any Sevillista that may have feel offended by the gestures I made in the past”, he said.
