Inter Miami failed to get past the draw against Nashville SC in the match that meant Lionel Messi's second duel in MLS, but now at the Miami team's stadium. The club is on a mission to try to seal its qualification for the following season, but now it was not the game expected.

This goalless draw, coupled with Toronto's victory, makes Inter Miami once again the last team from the East tied to 22 points with the Canadians. The brilliant defensive approach of Nashville had a lot of responsibility in this result, which was very strong on defense and was able to nullify all the offensive talent of the locals. Gerardo Martino lined up the regular starters again from the start, including Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Josef Martínez.

Despite the tie, Lionel Messi left a great play that Jordi Alba did not manage to finish in the best way. With many rivals and meters behind the area, the Argentine filtered an important pass that upset most of the players and put Jordi alone with the goalkeeper, but he was unable to define in the best way. This would have meant victory for the Florida team.

What's next for Inter Miami?

Inter Miami is separated by 10 points from ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings, currently held by the Chicago Fire with 32 units. That position gives rise to a play-off game with the eighth-placed player from that zone and the winner will advance to the postseason playoffs. Now, the team will have to go against LAFC and try to win, before the departure of many with their teams in the international break.
