Vinicius Junior became one of the most outstanding players in the world. The Brazilian maintains a superlative level at Real Madrid, which led him to be a regular player in the Brazilian national team. Beyond what he is achieving in sports, Vini also fights against discrimination in Spain. In Valencia he had a major altercation against the local fans, when visiting the Mestalla stadium with Real Madrid. The match on May 21 was stopped due to the insults that the forward was receiving.

The situation escalated so much that a dispute was reached between the player and Valencia. At the time, there was also an important campaign that sought to support Vinicius and fight against racial discrimination. However, a large part of public opinion also pointed against the Valencian club. For this reason, the institution issued a statement in response to the versions that circulated in the last few hours, which indicate that Vini would have lied in the trial for the altercation.

In part of the statement, Valencia referred to the veracity of the player's statements: Given the information published regarding the alleged statement given in court by the footballer Vinicius Jr. stating that the entire Mestalla stadium hurled racist insults at him in the match between Valencia CF and Real Madrid CF last season, the Club You want to express your surprise, rejection and indignation".

"The Club is fully aware of the seriousness of this matter. Racism has no place in football or in society, but it cannot be fought with fallacies, nor unfounded lies. This issue requires the involvement of everyone and Valencia CF understands that it must be scrupulously precise and responsible in this type of demonstrations", the club added officially.

The controversial cover of a Valencian newspaper

Regarding Vinicius Junior's possible lies in his statements before the judge, the newspaper Superdeporte compared him to Pinocchio, the famous wooden doll whose nose grew every time he told a lie. Furthermore, in the cover image they put the cartoon's nose on it and stated that it "lies to the judge." In Madrid the newspaper's comparison did not go down well, so the fans came out to support their player.
