Gino Mader was a Swiss cyclist who managed to compete in a great way in important cycling tournaments such as the Giro d'Italia and mainly the 'Vuelta de España'. It was precisely in a championship, the Tour of Switzerland, in which the young man of just 26 years ended up losing his life after an abrupt fall.

The Swiss tournament was in the fifth stage and it was in the descent of it that Gino Mader lost control of his bicycle, fell into a ravine and was found motionless in the water. The medical team tried to revive him but without success. His death marks another black page in the history of international sports.
