They reveal the date of Lionel Messi's first game in 2024 with Inter Miami

It will be next May that the Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi will play in Canadian stadiums as a member of the Inter Miami team. The revelation of the calendar for the 2024 season of the Major League Soccer, MLS, showed that it will be in Montreal, at the Saputo Stadium, where Messi will play his first game in Canada, on May 11.

Four days later, on May 25, the captain of the team that won the last FIFA World Cup will enter the BC Place stadium in Vancouver to play. The team from the most populous city in the country, Toronto FC, will have to wait until October 5, the date of its last game of the season, to host the Miami squad.

However, this match will be played two days before the start of an international break, which could compromise Messi's arrival at the BMO Stadium in the Ontario metropolis. In this new season, the Montreal soccer team will not play any games at the Olympic Stadium.

Olympic Park announced earlier this month that the main part of the stadium will remain closed until further notice, preventing several long-planned events from taking place, including matches for Montreal FC which will have to play its first six matches as visitor.

The return of the MLS

The Montrealers will play in Orlando on February 24, in Dallas on March 2, in Miami on March 10, in Chicago on March 16, in Washington on March 30 and, finally, in Seattle on April 6. The opening match in Montreal will take place at Saputo Stadium on April 13 against Cincinnati FC, a team that finished first in the Major League Soccer standings last season. A match against the champion club, the Columbus Crew, is scheduled for May 15.
