For example, an anecdote told by Alexis Vega speaks very well of this situation.

And in most cases, this is what happens, since, for example, André Pierre-Gignac went from earning a little more than 3 million, 859 thousand dollars to earning 8 million, 978 thousand dollars. Players who earn millions and can live a life of luxury, but do not perform in Liga MX

There are two players who are always part of the lists of the highest-paid players in Mexican soccer, but who do not make a difference in their teams, nor score goals or perform in the team play, and those players are Florian Thauvin and Vincent Janssen. The former is paid just over 6 million, 200 thousand dollars a year at Tigres, while the latter is paid just over 2 million, 413 thousand dollars a year.

And with the salary they receive per year, the players can have a very good quality of life, and buy brand-name clothes and luxury cars, but so far neither Thauvin nor Janssen has been a reference in their teams and although on some occasions they have contributed to team play, they still do not perform as expected of them.
