The worst news that Xavi receives from Pedri for 2024

Pedri is one of the most important footballers at FC Barcelona and his talent is undeniable. At his young age, the midfielder has managed to place himself among the best of the moment and the reality is that many expect the footballer to be the club's benchmark for the following years. However, things are not going in the best possible way.

Pedri has once again suffered a new injury with FC Barcelona. The Barça playmaker has suffered a muscular overload in training and will definitely miss the match against UD Almería and the friendly against América in Dallas. According to Diario Sport, the extent of the injury is two weeks. However, Marc Martínez reported that he could be out for up to three weeks, putting his participation in the Spanish Super Cup in doubt.

Both Sport and Mundo Deportivo agree that the Canarian will be absent in the matches against UD Almería, America and Las Palmas. If it is confirmed that his absence is three weeks, he would also miss the January 7 match against Barbastro for the Copa del Rey. Then, on January 11, Barça will travel to Arabia for the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup against Osasuna. Alfredo Martínez left Pedri's participation in this match in doubt. FC Barcelona does not want to rush the return of the midfielder, especially due to his injury history and the priority is to recover him for the Champions League round of 16 in February.

Another injury for Pedri in Barcelona

Since the 2020/21 season in which the Canarian played up to 70 games, Pedri has spent several weeks in the FC Barcelona infirmary due to injury. This is the second time that he has to be taken off the field this season. The culé midfielder suffered a thigh injury that left him without playing for two and a half months. The good news for Barça is that this time he is expected to be out for two to three weeks.
