Carlos Vela once again referred to what the arrival of Lionel Messi at Inter Miami means. The 34-year-old footballer, who has been in the league since 2018 as a franchise player for Los Angeles FC, had lowered the price to the news that Leo would land in the MLS in mid-June and now doubled the bet with a striking warning.

First of all, the Mexican attacker valued the arrival of Messi from a more commercial side: “MLS cannot make the leap it wants without sponsors, and with players like Messi, the MLS brand will grow. He's going to enjoy it. Messi has to be prepared for everything, as he is the best player in the world, he will have many opportunities to continue making his brand grow”.

However, he later focused on football and sent him a warning: “Messi just has to enjoy his football and decide what to do on the field to excel. He comes from so many years playing in Europe with Barcelona and PSG... the players from those teams serve you everything on a silver platter and what you have to do is finish the job. In MLS you have to do a little more”.

What had Vela said at the time about Messi's arrival in the United States?

In June, the Mexican soccer player was asked about the arrival of the best player in the world to the league, to which he replied: “We are still the ones who want to win the title. It doesn't matter who's on other teams, the equation doesn't change."
