Real Madrid visited the Valencia stadium to play matchday 35 of LaLiga. Although the local team won 1-0 and surprised many with their victory, especially due to their bad appearance, the most resonant and controversial thing of the afternoon at Mestalla were the demeaning insults that Vinicius Junior received from the public.

The Brazilian striker felt strongly attacked with the insults about his skin color and his family origins, something totally reprehensible. For this reason, it was a special duel in which Vini was away from the game and his head could not be focused on what was happening on the field of play.

Thibaut Courtois witnessed everything that his partner experienced from the Valencian public and did not hesitate to go out to defend him in front of the media after he received racist insults in the duel against Valencia, something that left him more than outraged and also threw a dart at the domestic competition and its organization.

Courtois's message in defense of Vinicius

“If Vinicius, upon hearing the screams, had left the field, I would have gone with him because this is inadmissible. In Belgium, if that happens, they close a part of the stadium and here it seems that nothing is done. One day you have to put a camera on those people, what you hear there is crazy. I suffered it in the first part. People go to football to insult, not to encourage”, explained the Belgian goalkeeper.
